Hola Mama! How are you? I’m doing good! I have a ton of pictures and a couple videos to send but they are taking forever to load again… I also don’t have a lot of time today because we traveled to the town center an hour and a half away to go to Walmart to buy stuff. I bought 3 boxes of waffle crisp, a box of fruity and cinnamon pebbles, cookies and cream pop tarts and Jiff peanut butter! :)
This last week on Tuesday we had a meeting with Elder Pieper of the Seventy who is President over this area of Mexico. It was the first time ever that all of our mission came together for a meeting. During his time talking to us, he talked about what it means to be a minister of the gospel, how and what we need to do to minister the gospel to the people of our areas and what we need to do to find out what our gifts are and how to develop them. It was a really good meeting/devotional to help motivate us to be better missionaries and work harder.
After we got back to our area we had a lesson with the Hernandez family. They have been investigators for a few months now and are a super awesome family who actually work pretty close to where we live. Our lesson was about Mosiah 2 and as we read the chapter, we would stop every now and then and talk about the versus and how they can apply to us. It was a really good lesson and they were kind enough to give us snacks and drinks during our lesson. It’s great to be able to be in this area teaching them.
Wednesday morning we decided we were sick of showering with cold water so we heated up water in pots on our stove and put it in bucks and used that hot water to shower instead. It’s not the first time I’ve had to shower using a bucket and I know it won’t be the last, but it’s really not that bad so I don’t mind. At least we have water. That afternoon we stopped by the business of the Hernandez family because their daughter Vianey wanted to talk to us. She told us she really wants to be baptized and asked what she needs to do. After we talked for a bit I realized we really need to rely on God and his spirit to be able to know what to do to help not only her but the whole family too.
Thursday, after we paid our rent and got gas for our casa, we went to see an investigator and a recent convert. It was one of the ladies’ birthday a few days ago so we bought a pizza to celebrate with them. A bit later we went and met with Laura, the mom of the Hernandez family, because she wanted to tell us what is going on with her family and if we can help because they really want to be baptized. They want to continue progressing in the church and want to be baptized, there are just some things we’ll have to figure out how to help them with.
Later in the week we also talked to Priscilla, the youngest daughter of the Hernandez family, for a while. She has a huge desire to be baptized because she really feels so much better and happier attending church and thinks that being baptized will help her even more. She is right, that it will. We are trying to help guide her and her family on this path. It will take some work but I know we can do it with God’s help.
Also on Friday there was a huge thunder storm! It was awesome but crazy! I set my camera up to take pictures every 3 seconds for 30 minutes and I got a couple pictures of some lightning! I had like 600 pictures on my camera to go through, but I got 4 with lightning haha so it was worth it.
We are out of time now but don’t worry I will figure out a way to send all of my other photos. Love you so much mama! Talk to you on Sunday. Nos Vemos! Te quiero mucho!
